1. ABS

ABS is the main material of building blocks, and the three letters stand for "acrylonitrile, butadiene, styrene" three substances.

The main reason for using ABS for interlocking blocks is that its dimensional stability is good, and the base particles made can maintain a high degree of consistency in size. At the same time, ABS hardness and toughness are high, even at low temperatures, will not become brittle (low temperature resistance - 40°). Then, drop and wear resistance.

 

In addition to the interlocking class building blocks, some model classes (such as tall, Transformers, plastic dolls, etc.), automotive classes (inertia pull-back cars, electric vehicles, riding strollers), reptile plastic toys will use ABS, the purpose is to prevent falling.

2. PVC

PVC can be hard or soft. Hard water pipes can be made of PVC, soft ones such as infusion pipes and slippers can be made of PVC. In terms of plastic toys, PVC is the most used material.

Most of the toys (except balls) that need to be inflated are made of PVC, such as crochet balls, vaulting horses, and balloons.

Both soft and hard animal models (children's toys) will basically use PVC as the main material, such as the dinosaur of Sile and PAPO:

 

Rigid PVC will be relatively less in the application of toys. PVC toys can not be disinfected with boiling water, direct disinfection with toy detergent is OK, or use a rag dipped in soapy water to wipe.

 

 

3. PP

Compared with the above two materials, PP has the advantage that it can be put into the microwave oven. Therefore, it is often used as a container to hold food, oil, condiments, etc., such as lunch boxes and crisper boxes. After PC baby bottles were banned a few years ago, PP became the main material of plastic baby bottles.

In toys, PP materials are mainly used in teether, rattle these small toys, one can be imported, and the other can be boiled and sterilized at high temperature.

 

4. PC

Before 2011, the PC material of the baby bottle sold well, and now it has been banned. The reason for the ban is that PC material contains bisphenol A (BPA), the European Union believes that bisphenol A can induce precocious puberty, lead to endocrine disorders, and threaten the health of fetuses and children, so it is banned.

Similarly, PC toys may also contain BPA, and there are similar toys on the market now, but they are very cheap.

 

5. PE

Soft PE is mainly used in film products, such as food cling film, plastic bags; The rigid characteristics are suitable for one-time injection molding products and hollow products.
